About company
Amidst the commotion of running our stores in San Francisco, we noticed something about the brands that we carried – there just wasn’t a single brand that met all of the specifications that our customers were looking for: quality, practicality, comfort, and affordable prices. Customers wanted a shoe that they can wear everyday (to the office, to dinner, around the city, etc).
For 35 years, we listened to the consumer. What we learned in the days of ShoeBiz is what allowed us to create the footwear that we all imagined was possible but didn’t seem accessible at the time. Our customers’ demands are what inspired us to develop a brand that encompasses all of the qualifications of a great pair of shoes. Today, we continue to take feedback and tweak our approaches to cater to what people are looking for.
It’s simple:
You want to own a pair of shoes and wear them to death; A pair you wear the most and leave in the closet the least.
That is the purpose behind each design. That is our purpose in creating Sutro.
Ground Shipping:
We offer FREE shipping for orders $100+ for all domestic ground orders in the U.S.* Orders that fall below the minimum amount will pay a flat rate of $10.00 shipping via UPS/USPS.
Expedited shipping available at your expense and can be viewed while selecting shipping method at checkout.
You will receive a tracking number along with a shipping confirmation e-mail once your order has been processed and shipped.
*Hawaii & Canada customers pay flat rate $25.00 shipping via UPS/USPS.
International Shipping
International shipping is available through USPS at a flat rate of $40.00 per pair.
Please Note: Import Duties, Taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost.
These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what additional costs will be prior to buying.
Should you be unhappy with your purchase or would like to exchange for a different size or style, we can refund or exchange any unworn, unaltered, or defective merchandise within 14 days of the original purchase date. Please note that if shoes show obvious wear, they cannot and will not be exchanged/returned.
All shipments sent back to us will need to be in its original packaging. Shoe boxes may NOT be used as the shipping box. Any item returned without its original shoe box or sent using the shoe box as the shipping package will result in a $8 restocking fee.
Returns Policy:
Returns are easy, simply complete the Returns & Exchanges form included with your shipment. Shipping for returns will be at your own expense, unless we have erroneously shipped you an item. Please allow up to 1-2 weeks for refunds to be processed. Depending on shipping time and credit card company processing time, a refund may take up to 1-2 billing cycles to appear on your bank statement.

Exchange Policy:
Exchanges are easy, simply complete the Returns & Exchanges form with your desired style/size and include it with your return. To exchange for another size, simply place an order for the pair that you’d like to exchange for and send back the pair that did not work out for you. We will issue a full refund for that pair once we receive it back.
