Install the goTenna app from the app store or the play store onto your respective iOS or Android device. Follow the instructions within the app to set up your goTenna Mesh. Turn on goTenna Mesh by pressing and holding the power button for 3 seconds. Release the button and watch for the indicator light to slowly pulse. It indicates that goTenna Mesh switched on.
It transmits over long-range radio frequencies of 151-154 MHz, which is within the same spectrum as FM radio. The goTenna typically works within 1 to 6 miles, but under the right conditions it could reach up to 50 miles.
goTenna Mesh is the first 100% off-grid, mobile, long-range consumer-ready mesh network. Chat privately in 1-to-1 or group conversations, or broadcast to any other goTenna Mesh device up to several miles or kilometers away without using towers, routers or satellites.
goTenna Plus is the perfect way to get more detailed information about your surroundings and stay in better sync with your group while on your next off-grid adventure.
goTenna Pro app is a tactical mapping tool that pairs with goTenna Pro tactical radios to enable situational awareness and critical communications completely independent of the traditional
cell, wifi or satellite connectivity.
Goals of goTenna:
goTenna builds next-generation wireless architectures to power bottom-up communications networks that get stronger as they grow. goTenna focus on low-power, low-cost, modular
mobile ad-hoc networking protocols, and devices that are easy-to-use and developer-friendly. The parallel networks are designed to both enable completely off-grid communication and augment traditional systems by extending the practical edge of connectivity.
